You are an unlimited being, with unlimited ideas, interests and possibilities.
As a leader, entrepreneur, coach or consultant, why limit yourself by focusing on one thing, and one thing only, to the exclusion of all other possibilities?
Sure, you should continue to engage in your core business or activity--there is tremendous value and potential in doing what you do so well that others flock to have the experience that you provide them. But, I invite you to remain ever-vigilent--never become complacent in thinking that one way is the only way to share your gifts, talents and experiences.
Why not try different ideas on for size?
As an executive, start a blog offering open-source best practices to the world.
As a job-seeker, post 2 minute encouragement videos or podcasts for fellow job-seekers.
As a seasoned professional, entrepreneur, coach or consultant, offer to mentor new professionals or new entrepreneurs by opening up a discussion space to ask questions. Do so with the intention to truly help others find their way.
Be of service to others in ways beyond your day-to-day work, and I guarantee that not only will you experience more success, but, more importantly, you will also experience more meaning and fulfillment in your day-to-day life.
Some ideas will work, some won't. As the saying goes, "I never lose. I either win or I learn."
So, have the courage to give yourself permission to stretch--to try something on that feels foreign, but that could be a rewarding experience whether you win or learn. You never know where the next great idea will come from for your business--and your life--if you don't branch out into the unknown.
